Help-Veterans.org was built by veterans, for veterans. We understand the importance of privacy and trust. This privacy policy explains how we handle (or rather, don't handle) your personal information.

Information We Collect

Contact Form Submissions

When you submit our contact form, we collect:

• Your name
• Email address
• Branch of service (if you choose to provide it)
• The message you send

This information is stored securely via Netlify Forms and is only used to respond to your inquiry. We do not share this information with anyone outside of Help-Veterans.org.

Analytics

We use Netlify Analytics to understand site traffic and performance. This service:

• Does NOT use cookies
• Does NOT track you across websites
• Does NOT collect personally identifiable information
• Provides only aggregate, anonymized data (e.g., page views, geographic region)

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking scripts.

Cookies

Help-Veterans.org does not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Browsing history
• IP addresses (beyond what's required for basic server functionality)
• Device fingerprints
• Social media activity
• Location data (beyond general geographic region for analytics)
• Any personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it via contact form

How We Use Your Information

Information you provide via the contact form is used solely to:

• Respond to your inquiry
• Provide assistance or resources you requested

We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, or any purpose other than directly addressing your request.

Third-Party Services

Help-Veterans.org uses the following third-party services:

When you click external links to veteran resources (VA.gov, crisis hotlines, etc.), you are subject to those organizations' privacy policies.

Data Security

All data transmitted to and from Help-Veterans.org is encrypted via SSL/TLS (HTTPS). Contact form submissions are stored securely by Netlify with industry-standard security practices.

However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. If you have sensitive information to share, consider calling the Veterans Crisis Line instead.

Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained for up to one year or until the inquiry is resolved, whichever comes first. After that, they are deleted.

You can request deletion of your contact form data at any time by emailing us.

Children's Privacy

Help-Veterans.org is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of any personal information we have about you
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of any future communications (though we don't send marketing emails)
